Intermediate Class

Intermediate Class is designed for dogs who have completed Simpawtico’s Basic Training or Puppy 1, and picks up to continue the good stuff! Now it’s time to focus your adolescent dog’s love for life into equally enthusiastic obedience. We build on the “Three D’s” (duration, distance, and distraction), emphasizing prompt sits and downs, reliable stays, and ultra-controlled walking. We’ll also round out the class with some precise heeling (like forward, backward, and turning on a dime…all with a loose leash!). Intermediate Class builds on your solid foundation to create something awe-inspiring!

Adolescent dogs aren’t the only ones who need this course. Hyperactivity, jumping, barking, and pulling are often hallmarks of recently adopted shelter and rescue dogs. Basic Class started addressing these issues while we were cementing your bond. Now, we can really start “sanding down the rough edges.”

Intermediate Class is also the perfect weigh-station on the road to the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen certificate and title. Graduates of Intermediate Classes are always ahead of the competition when it comes to good manners and attentive listening! YOU can do it!
