A dog’s performance and understanding of a behavior in a variety of contexts and environments. Unfortunately, dogs are not naturally very good at this. There’s an old saying: “If you only train your dog in the kitchen, you’ll get a great kitchen dog.” Thus, after a dog has moved past initial learning we want to quickly help them generalize to other environments and contexts. This must be done slowly and methodically.
