Wednesday Distro is a project dedicated to humane education, initiated by Ian, the founder of Simpawtico, in 2024. Ian’s life took a profound turn when he experienced the sudden loss of his beloved dog, Wednesday, in March 2024. This heartbreaking event deeply affected him, and those following Simpawtico could see the special bond he shared with Wednesday. Ian’s struggle with depression after Wednesday’s passing is a testament to the profound impact pets can have on our lives. But from this tragedy, he discovered a new sense of purpose. Ian has developed a strong passion for humane education, an approach and field of study that prepares individuals to be compassionate, ethical, and responsible towards all living beings. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of human rights, animal protection, and environmental sustainability, highlighting the holistic approach of humane education.
WEDNESDAY’S LEGACY
Wednesday Distro honors Wednesday’s legacy by creating humane education resources to educate and inspire individuals of all ages. The objective is to cultivate more mindful and empathetic individuals who can positively impact the world. Currently, the Distro produces short, informative zines for pet owners. A zine is a small-circulation, self-published publication similar to a magazine but not intended for profit. Wednesday Distro’s zines have been featured in our local shelters and distributed in various parts of the world.
